Fluor Enterprises, in cooperation with Greenville Technical College is currently seeking qualified people who are interested in a pipe welding career in the construction industry.  Fluor is recognized as one of the world’s largest engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services companies.  Together, the Greenville Tech–Fluor pipe welding training teaches the latest pipe welding techniques established by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Welding Society (AWS).

The pipe welding program is designed for experienced welders who are interested in expanding their welding career opportunities’, but is not limited to SMAW (stick), GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding.

Pipe Welding Training is offered at the Greenville Technical College, Brashier campus, Monday through Thursday from 7:00am – 5:30pm.

The average length of training, with prior welding experience, is approximately four months. However, the length of training is dependent on individual prior welding experience and ability to quickly master techniques and skills.

Minimum qualifications in one of the in one of the following areas:
One year verifiable welding experience recommended
A graduate of a Vocational or Technical college welding program capable of welding SMAW in 3G and 4G positions
Successfully pass drug test
Job opportunities may be available to students who complete program requirements and meet all job criteria. To be considered for employment, students must:
Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Be able to provide own transportation and hold a current driver’s license
Be willing to travel
