• The RN and LPN refresher courses offered by the Buck Mickel Center at Greenville Technical College were approved by the South Carolina Board of Nursing in November of 2000 and January of 2001 respectively.
• The courses have successfully returned over 200 nurses back into clinical practice.
• The courses provide 120 hours of online lecture to include a review of the foundations of nursing, adult health medical surgical nursing, pediatric and obstetric overview, and a psychiatric nursing review.
• A 64 hour hands-on skills lab is included to allow the nurse to practice old skills and learn new skills.
• The labs are offered in 3 sites across the state: Greenville, Charleston, and Aiken.
• Completion of the program is capped with an 84 hour clinical rotation in a hospital, nursing home, or home health agency of the nurse’s choice.
