Accreditation
The Greenville Technical College Medical Assistant Program is nationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on the recommendations of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants’ Endowment (AAMAE). Accreditation with CAAHEP allows the student to sit for AAMA certification exam immediately after graduation.

Certification
The Certification examination is a national test that is given three times a year by the AAMA and documents the knowledge attained through formal training. You must attend an accredited program to be eligible to sit for this national certification examination. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is nationally recognized as a qualified, professional, multi-skilled member of the health care team who shows their commitment through continuing education and proof of continuing competencies. This exam is the only exam recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA).
