Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVO)

This course covers the knowledge, skills, and attitudes critical to safe and effective law enforcement and emergency response vehicle operation. The instruction focuses on lecture with learning activities involving practical experience in simulated and demonstration modes with numerous opportunities for class discussion. This training is designed to enable agencies to lower their EVO operating costs through more efficient vehicle operation and maintenance, and to provide accumulated data to assist in analyzing the cause and prevention of emergency vehicle incidents and crashes.

"There is a growing need for Emergency Management Awareness and training in related issues. I applaud the Buck Mickel Center for its efforts to address these needs with the

Healthcare First Receiver Awareness and Operations Level Training

Healthcare workers receiving contaminated victims during mass casualty incidents may be at risk for occupational exposure to chemical, biological or radiological materials.   CIMI has First Receiver Operations and Awareness level courses designed to prepare healthcare workers for response to manmade or natural disasters involving hazardous substances such as toxic industrial chemicals or even weapons of mass destruction used in bioterrorism events.  First Receivers typically include clinicians and other hospital staff receiving and treating contaminated victims.  Roles include triage, decontamination, medical treatment, security and other support functions such as decontamination unit set-up and patient tracking.
